The Project

Focusing on the Covid-19 pandemic, the ABMA-MG project aims at direct intervention to strengthen the soul and immunity as a response to the challenges imposed by the dire moment, through the production and distribution of anthroposophic medicines, initially planned for various cities in Minas Gerais state, including São João Del Rey, Nova Lima, Matozinhos, Serro, Diamantina and Jordan, but which also extended to the favela community of Paraisópolis, in the city of São Paulo. The project emerged as a result of the pandemic and is also as a way to make Anthroposophical Medicine better known and accessible, especially during this period of commenorating our 100th anniversary. Minas Gerais is the Brazilian state that has the most anthroposophic doctors in the Brazilian Health Care system (SUS), thus the idea is to expand the access of these health professionals and SUS users in the state to anthroposophic medicines. In addition, the project includes carrying out a pioneering survey to assess the use of anthroposophical medicine by these groups.

Objectives

– Support Public Health Care workers (SUS) while facing the pandemic.

– Reduce the impact of the pandemic on the population at risk in areas where anthroposophic doctors work in the Public Health Care system within Minas Gerais state.

– Provide access to anthroposophic medicines for Public Health Care professionals and users.

– Develop and conduct research on the role of anthroposophic medicine during the Covid-19 pandemic in Minas Gerais state.

– Collaborate so that anthroposophic medicine can fulfill its human, spiritual and social role in Brazil.

RESULTS

– Significant increase in the production of anthroposophic medicines by the Yochanam Association, Minas Gerais state.

– Assistance to all Public Health Care workers (SUS) in the areas where anthroposophic doctors work in Minas Gerais.

– Extension of the project (drug distribution) to the SUS reference hospital in

Santo Antônio do Amparo, Minas Gerais and to the favela community of Paraisópolis, São Paulo.

– Unpublished qualitative-quantitative study on the impacts of anthroposophical medicine on the quality of life of target audiences (ongoing).
