The Project<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The inclusion of children from 2 to 6 years old, linked to the NGO Casa da Alegria (House of Joy), by applying the dynamics of the Waldorf Pedagogy as well as reflections on structural racism, is the focus of this project. Executed at Jo\u00e3o de Barro Culture Garden, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, the project seeks the healthy development of socially vulnerable children in a region where family production contributes to the health, identity and culture of the population. The scenario has given rise to the application of Emergency Pedagogy*, with an emphasis on the daily experience of the rhythm of a Waldorf school as a viable option for social inclusion and the effectiveness of the therapeutic character present in the pedagogical treatment of children. The Racial Literacy Course and Waldorf Pedagogy were selected because they present pedagogical-therapeutic and awareness-raising resources that can contribute to the healthy development and integration of children and their families involved in the project. <\/p>

*Emergency Pedagogy works to help children who have experienced trauma caused by dramatic events. The pedagogical line was created in 2006 by the German professor Bernd Ruf, who states: \u201cVerbally expressing feelings is not always the best way to deal with trauma. So, it is necessary to think of alternatives that help these people to reconnect with themselves.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Objectives<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u2013 Offer two training modules in Emergency Pedagogy for teachers at Jo\u00e3o de Barro Culture Garden.<\/p>

\u2013 Involve the children’s families, providing reception and guidance in supporting the development of the children served, through weekly conversation sessions and the offer of a monthly course on the ethnic-racial agenda, with Racial Literacy, Study of Structural Racism and Anti-racist Practices.<\/p>

\u2013 Support the neuropsychomotor<\/em>development of children through the application of the special resources of Waldorf Pedagogy (4 hours a day, 20 hours a week).<\/p>

\u2013 Attest to the improvement in children’s development, through assessments by a professional trained in special resources of the Waldorf Pedagogy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u2013 Expansion of the dissemination and performance of the Anthroposophic Pedagogy proposal within the community.<\/p>
