The Challenge

Since 2018, Novalis School has initiated its High School program, with many of the students coming from scholarship families. The contact with these young individuals has revealed a significant social demand for inclusive education that offers, in addition to the mandatory curriculum, opportunities for self-knowledge, access to culture, and professional development. There is also a latent demand for eurythmy in Brazil, with a frequent lack of eurythmy professionals hindering education in Waldorf schools and limiting students’ exposure to this artistic language.

The Project

A few years ago, a group of young individuals, composed of students and alumni of Waldorf Novalis School, formed the Minerva collective, aimed at training youth in eurythmy as well as developing personal and professional skills. Currently, the group is dedicated to the performance “Momentum,” which includes artistic presentations of eurythmy, dance, music, and poetry with original choreography, musical arrangements, and artistic production. With the goal of bringing the performance to audiences outside the local community, the group has toured Waldorf schools in Brazil and cities in Mexico and Peru, also conducting workshops and promoting Brazilian popular culture.

The Impact

  • Artistic, emotional, and professional development of young people
  • Dissemination of eurythmy and promotion of national repertoire
  • Artistic training, teamwork, self-confidence, organization and project management, autonomy, positive use of technology, entrepreneurship, body awareness
  • Creation of audiences, fostering the formation of local groups, and encouraging professionalization of artistic careers
  • Promotion of repertoire by Brazilian artists
  • Creation of new eurythmy centers
