The Challenge

We see that the world today desperately needs new perspectives, spiritual foundations for the construction of society. Art is empty, intellectual. Our children and young people need perspectives for the future, encouragement and confidence in the presence of the spiritual world in their lives. We believe that anthroposophy can offer much of this, and eurythmy, being pure anthroposophy, generally opens minds and hearts to the new, the unusual. It is necessary to awaken people to this art and its importance in Waldorf schools and in other contexts, and also to mobilize the formation of new eurythmists.

The Project

Cia Terranova’s Project South tour comprises the circulation of its currently active shows – Na Anatomia Oca dos Pássaros, for youth and adults, and A Rixa das Bruxas, for children in the southern region of the country. At each venue, there will be workshops for adults in dance and theater, workshops on the Foundation Stone for the anthroposophical public, and lectures on eurythmy for parents of Waldorf schools. Unreleased from this Project is the 1-week residence of activities requested by the city of Porto Alegre, at the Cultural Center Mário Quintana.

The Impact

With this tour we hope to touch people’s minds and souls; that something will mobilize them to actively stand up for eurythmy, possibly also for anthroposophy, in their cities and institutions. Evoking admiration for this art can open the way for the recognition of anthroposophy as a contemporary path, and can mobilize eurythmy training in cities other than SP, or even encourage potential students to study. It can awaken the discovery of and interest in Waldorf pedagogy in their cities, and for taking this pedagogy to schools and contexts outside the walls of anthroposophy, but permeated by it.
