SÃO FÉLIX DO XINGU – PA
2022
The responsible agricultural production, with more profitable models and aligned to organic and agroecological practices, is a great challenge in the southeast region of Pará, a place with several illegal and predatory activities such as deforestation and mining. In cocoa and fruit production, specifically, there is a need for constant evolution, especially on the subject of fertilization of the production areas.
The Anthroposophical Carimbó II project seeks through practices, research and training to introduce biodynamic knowledge in the community of São Félix do Xingu. It intends to incorporate sustainable production methods in a holistic way, integrating scientific knowledge with local and global demands and generating income through the direct sale of products via CSA. As far as research is concerned, the aim is to validate biodynamic practices as a tool to improve the lives of farmers – organized in associations and cooperatives of small farmers – and future agricultural technicians who will work in the region.
It is expected at the end of Carimbó II to increase to 15 the number of active and emancipated producers in terms of e-commerce, logistics and productive management. It is also intended to strengthen the process of transversalization of knowledge and techniques in cocoa production, providing the region with good practices and techniques of integrated management combining low cost and low ecological impact
