Brazilian public health, during the Covid-19 pandemic, faced significant consequences, affecting both people’s mental health and leading to hyper-medicalization. This situation was identified after the resumption of activities in 2021 and was closely observed by various health professionals.
The Project
As an alternative treatment for individuals presenting different post-Covid symptoms, Dr. Augusto Cesar Cabral de Menezes, an anthroposophic physician from the Vila Ferroviária Health School Center/Unesp (CSE-UVF), proposed the creation of the Mil Folhas Biodynamic Garden, a space for cultivating medicinal plants accessible to users of the unit and the surrounding community.
Currently, the project is in the process of expanding activities that include theoretical and practical training in biodynamic agriculture and phytotherapy, organic/Demeter certification, and structural support for consolidating the Living Pharmacy.
The Impact
Integrative anthroposophic practice offered through the SUS (Unified Health System)
Access to biodynamic cultivated medicines for low-income individuals
