The climate crisis scenario with the loss of biodiversity, the increase of natural disasters and environmental refugees are among the greatest challenges that humanity has faced and will have to face in the coming years, according to the Sustainable Development Goals presented by the UN.
The project intends to contribute to strengthening and structuring the development of this field of knowledge so fundamental nowadays and to train students, teachers and the community, sensitive to the environmental cause. Among the practices to be carried out to achieve these objectives are: composting, biodynamic and agroforestry crops, with vegetable species, agricultural, fruit and fertilizer crops, as well as the construction of a small nursery where seedlings will be grown, especially of fruit and native species. There will be exchanges between students from the Pequizeiro school and students from a nearby public school, with the objective of strengthening knowledge, exchanging experiences and knowledge regarding rural and school life, and cultivation experiences. Finally, the axis of teacher training in agroecology and emergency pedagogy where we intend to disseminate this knowledge applied in Pequizeiro
The practices of permaculture, agroecology and biodynamics have shown great environmental, social and economic benefits. It is believed that, even if it is a relatively small production system, it will be possible to transform the environment and the actors involved through the connection between these spheres, the exchange of knowledge, and the formation of individuals who, from early childhood, will have access to knowledge that will enable the relationships with nature to be restored in a healthy and fun way.
