Waldorf pedagogy training for public school teachers in São Paulo

The educational practice in public daycare units often does not provide opportunities for movement and interaction among children. From the structure of the furniture to the organization of the routine, many are the challenges for children to develop in a healthy and integral way, especially in the first three years of life, a decisive phase for human formation.
The project Caminhar pelo caminho da Pedagogia Waldorf (Walking along the Waldorf Pedagogy Path) aims to introduce and cultivate the study of anthroposophical anthropology as a basis for the practice of Waldorf Pedagogy in 4 public day care centers in the neighborhood of Campo Grande, south zone of the capital. The goal of this project is to transform the neighborhood into an educating neighborhood through partner networks and public services like UBS, Ames and public schools.
It is hoped that the daycare units will be touched by Waldorf Pedagogy and start to have a new look at the spaces, environments and materials, redefining the time of the activities in favor of the integral health of the children attended in the daycare centers, implementing green areas, small vegetable gardens and flowerbeds favoring the children to participate and observe the phenomena of nature, expanding the action of the institution in the other services reaching the whole territory and surrounding places.
