The Challenge

The Paripassu Institute has seen over the years, based on the reality of the institutions it has served, that the lack of proper administrative management creates great challenges for Waldorf schools and anthroposophical initiatives in general, which end up compromising their financial health and sustainability, the fulfillment of the mission they propose to accomplish, and even the relationships within the communities that comprise them.

The Project

Gestar was created by the Paripassu Institute in partnership with the Federation of Waldorf Schools of Brazil (FEWB), with the objective to support the development of the administrative management of Waldorf schools. Due to the promising results achieved in 2021, with a pilot project, and the growing recognition of the relevance of the program, Gestar was redesigned to serve a larger number of Waldorf schools, to support the structuring of the Waldorf Affiliation and Recognition by FEWB and to extend the services to institutions affiliated to the Federation of Therapeutic Education and Social Therapy (FETTS).

The Impact

Beginning schools are expected to improve their understanding of the needs and strategies for a healthy development of the administrative area of a Waldorf school. For older schools, more than 50% of the schools are expected to have improved, by the end of the work, at least 25% the score obtained in the initial diagnostic of the management conditions, based on a diagnostic tool developed by Paripassu Institute specifically for this purpose; for the initiatives affiliated to FETTS it is expected that more than 40% of the initiatives have managed, by the end of the work, to improve by at least 25% the score obtained in the initial diagnosis of management conditions, based on a diagnostic tool developed by the Paripassu Institute specifically for this purpose.

By the end of the first half of 2022, the intention is that the Bank of Tools and Good Management Practices (FEWB+ GAAEW) will be fully operational, with materials available and access released to schools.
